Martins Walks are a company that specialises
in hill walking in the Brecon Beacons. As well as taking leisure
walking groups on exploratory trips, Martins Walks take business
people out for corporate walks.
The idea behind this is to not only help people in a business environment
bond together, but helping them with stress relief, health, fitness
and clearing their minds from the clutter of day to day work.
Martin himself has been a keen walker for many years. He was one
of the first to run the London Marathon. In 1996 at 50 years young
he looked for further adventure climbing Kilimanjaro and the next
year Mt. Blanc.
An experienced hill walker he has trekked in many parts of the
world. In Wales he has back packed from Llanfairfechan on the North
Wales coast to Swansea, completed Offas Dyke long distance path
and the Pembrokeshire coastal path. He says that “in his
opinion Wales has a great variety of walking interest. The Brecon
Beacons can offer fine hill walking for the young or not so young
as well as for experienced and novice walkers.”
His love of the area has been the catalyst to his offering hill
walking experiences to visitors. Martin has been on leader courses
at the National Mountain Centre Plas Y Brenin and holds a valid
British Red Cross Expedition Group Leaders first aid qualification.
