For many people walking away from the road or in remote areas is uncomfortable because of the worry about getting lost. It is a great shame because there are fantastic areas in all parts of the UK and elsewhere to explore just slightly off the main tracks. All you need is a little extra skill and confidence. To help we have prepared a special residential 2 day course to cover these skills. If you have an interest in walking and would like to improve your skills try this course. Our course aims to help participants to become familiar and confident in using a map and compass enabling them to walk independently and to become confident in planning walks for groups in the hills and countryside. Martin and Hester are experienced walkers and navigators. They enjoy helping people acquire the skills of map reading and navigation and plan a friendly, relaxed course where there are no tricks or exams to stress you out.

Or try our fun day’s adventure walk in the Geo Park where some navigation tuition is provided. The photograph shows a 300 million year old fossilised tree trunk seen on this walk. Get more details here.
